As I traveled through this incredible country, I learned that dressing appropriately isn't just about style; it's a way to show respect for the culture and keep cool in the scorching heat.

1οΈβ£ Modesty is Key: Always keep your shoulders and knees covered. It's a sign of respect in this conservative Muslim country.
2οΈβ£ Be Mosque-Ready: Don't forget to pack a scarf! It's a versatile accessory that you can use to cover your head when visiting a mosque or your shoulders if you're wearing a tank top.
3οΈβ£ Leave the Shorts Behind: Opt for maxi skirts, drawstring linen pants, jumpsuits, and maxi dresses. In Egypt's dry heat, cotton and linen fabrics are your best friends.
During my visit, I discovered that adhering to the dress code was much easier than I anticipated. As a bald Black woman, I'm used to getting curious looks wherever I go, but in Egypt, I didn't feel singled out. Traveling with a group and dressing conservatively certainly played a role in that.
