POV: What Happens When You Follow a New Orleans Second Line is you have an absolutely incredible time. From the moment you arrive, you are swept up in the vibrant energy of the parade, with people dancing and singing and waving colorful handkerchiefs in the air.
The music is out of this world - the brass band is playing with passion and skill and it makes it impossible to not sway your hips and move your feet to the beat. And the costumes! Oh, the costumes are simply amazing - bright, bold, and adorned with feathers, sequins, and beads. BEAUTIFUL.
As we all make our way through the streets, you couldn't help but feel a sense of community and togetherness, as if everyone around you was part of something bigger and more meaningful than themselves. The joy and exuberance of the crowd is infectious, and you find yourself smiling and laughing and letting go of all your worries and cares. It's an experience you will never forget, and you feel so grateful to have been able to witness and participate in such a rich and vibrant cultural tradition.
