Visiting Our FIRST PINK LAKE in Africa Senegal As an African American Family | Moving to SENEGAL
Nothing more memorable when celebrating your birthday with your beautiful Family.
We travelled from Dakar city to Pink Lake #pinklakesenegal which is 40kms away by Taxi that costed us around 20000CFA (40USD) for are two way journey.
Arriving , we had to find a way on how to make Mama's Birthday #Nichole at least more fun, so we decided to at least pay for some activities like Jeep Car ride through the Former Dakar Rally trail dunes and also after book for a boat ride around the pink lake.

SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS LAKE.
The Pink Lake in Senegal attracts tourists and is a vital local resource, but there are certain environmental issues that could threaten its existence.
Lake Retba, or Lac Rose, near the capital, Dakar, is the only pink lake in Africa. It is a top tourist attraction and the salt dug from its bed also underpins the local economy on which thousands of people in Senegal and West Africa depend.
But it is also right next to the Atlantic Ocean and a strip of constantly moving dunes - so blowing sand can cause siltation and disturb the lake’s ecosystem. Seashell mining also used to disrupt the flow of underground water to the lake and local rainfall has fallen due to climate change.
We use our channel to document our life living and working in the mother land not only us as parents(Nichole X Samuel) but also for 4 beautiful kids..
