I have a quick travel tip for you: Go do the tourist things.
That’s right — when you visit a country for the very first time, you are a tourist. So go see the tourist stuff! Too many people online act like doing the popular sights makes you less of a “real traveler.” But here’s the truth — if a place is famous for something, there’s usually a reason.
In this video, I share why it’s okay — and actually smart — to do the touristy things the first time you visit a new country. From Florence to Istanbul to Zimbabwe, I’ve learned that the iconic sites are part of what make travel so magical. Then, once you’ve seen the big things, you can go deeper and find the hidden gems that make the experience uniquely yours.
