Throughout my pregnancy and now as a first-time mom in Iceland, I’ve noticed some differences in parenting that are social norms here but are taboo in the United States. I grew up and lived in NYC until the age of 30, so I what I’ve learned there has stuck with me. Even after 9 years of living in Iceland, I still find myself having little bits of culture shock.
