Rwanda is a landlocked country which is bordered by Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. At 26,338 square kilometres, Rwanda is the world's 149th largest country, and the fourth smallest on the African mainland after Gambia, Eswatini, and Djibouti. The population of Rwanda is 14,112,034 as of July 2023 with Kigali as it's capital. The official currency is the Rwandan Franc and it's major exports are Gold, Refined Petroleum, Tin Ores, Tea , Coffee, Niobium, Tantalum, Vanadium and Zirconium Ore. Rwanda has 3 tribes; the Hutu, Tutsi, and Twa. After the infamous Rwandan genocide, people seized to identify themselves by their ethnic attachments but now rather use the umbrella word Rwandan to identify themselves. Rwandans speak Kinyarwanda in addition to 3 other official languages: French, English, and Swahili. Rwanda is a democratic country with public safety and cleanliness rankings much better than most western countries. Umutsima , isombe and mizuzu are popular dishes in Rwanda. Rwanda, referred to as “The Land of a Thousand Hills is home to rare mountain gorillas, lions, rhinoceroses, elephants, giraffes, zebras, over 700 bird species.
