I just got back from Philly and went on a full meat-eating cheesesteak mission. Tried a mix of classic spots and even threw a vegan spot in the mix for the non-meat eaters. Here's the rundown of everything I ate.
Cheesesteak Tour Stops:
1. Taste Cheesesteak Bar
This spot has a modern vibe, but the cheesesteak still hits like it should. Super juicy meat, cheese melted just right, and the roll holds everything together without falling apart. It’s a clean, chill place to crush a solid cheesesteak with plnety variety.
2. Tattooed Mom (Vegan Food)
Tattooed Mom is wild in the best way — graffiti on the walls, laid-back crowd, and the vegan food actually tastes good. If you're into plant-based foods or just curious, this place is creative and way more flavorful than you'd expect.
3. Woodrow’s Sandwich Shop
Woodrow’s is where you go when you want your cheesesteak leveled up. The cheesesteak is rich and super flavorful.
4. Angelo’s Pizzeria
Angelo’s is just straight-up Philly legend status. The cheesesteak is classic — crusty bread, super flavorful meat, melted cheese — all blended in. The food that speaks for itself.
5. Oh Brother Philly
This one’s fun and fast. It’s right in Old City, so it’s a great grab-and-go stop if you’re exploring. Nothing fancy, but it delivers when you just want something that tastes awesome.

Overall, Philly definitely came through. Each spot had its own thing, and honestly, none of them missed. Let me know in the comments which one you’d try first, or drop your own Philly favorites — I might have to run it back this year!
