Morocco is located in the northwest corner of Africa and is bordered by the North Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Algeria and Western Sahara are the land borders. The land has a total area of 172,414 square miles and a total coastline of 1,140.2 miles. Morocco is the 25th biggest country in Africa and in terms of area ranked 58th worldwide. The country has about 10 islands. Casablanca is considered the economic and business center of Morocco, although the political capital is Rabat. It has a population of 37 million people. Arabs make up 67 percent of the population of Morocco, while the indigenous ethnic groups(the Berbers and Sahrawia) make up 31% and 2% respectively. Arabic is the official language whiles Berber Amazigh is also widely spoken. The Moroccan dirham is the official currency of Morocco.
