A short ferry ride from Cancun to the magic of Isla Mujeres! It was captivating, fun and ultra safe. It’s the perfect escape and addition to a Cancun itinerary. We did a day trip but absolutely would not mind spending an extra 2 or 3 days on this beautiful island.
How to get there:
Ultramar Ferry 540mxn pp (roundtrip), 20 min ride from Puerto Juarez in Cancun
What to do:
Isla Mujeres Golf Carts Joaquin - great rental prices on golf carts and scooters, a block from the ferry terminal
Punta Sur - southern most point on the island, home to Mayan sculptures and what’s left of the temple of Mayan Goddess Ixchel
Garrafon Park (honorable mention) - dope natural reef park we passed on the way to Punta Sur. Next trip we’re getting tickets to enjoy kayaking, snorkeling and ziplining
Playa Norte - right off of Centro, this beach is popular amongst locals and tourists.
Honorable Mentions:
If you're spending a few days on the island make time for these:
- MUSA museum
- Dolphin Discovery
- Tortugranja
- Parque de los Sueños
