Its my birthday 2023
Some would say that this is a milestone birthday because today I am #55.
But the thing that I have learned is
every birthday is a milestone and
every birthday is a gift.
Growing older is a blessing that not everyone receives.
So on this birthday I’m just grateful
Grateful to be here
Grateful to have my health (as far as I know)
Grateful for my mobility
Grateful for the ability to travel
Grateful for being able to create the life that I want it for myself, and grateful to be able to live it
Grateful to be and give any inspiration I can to Black women everywhere, especially those of us over 40 and particularly those of us over 50
You too can live the life that you want.
I am not a unicorn
I’m not special
I just knew I wanted something different and decided to go for it
