Based on lived experiences shared by Black travelers and expats, this video breaks down countries Black people rarely visit or actively avoid due to cultural exclusion, visa barriers, and real-world treatment. On Virtual Travel by Brian, I investigated why certain destinations quietly fall off the radar for Black travelers—not because of lack of curiosity or interest, but because the on-the-ground reality doesn’t always match the glossy travel ads. From confusing entry requirements to subtle (and not-so-subtle) discrimination, this is a hard look at the global travel reality many people only discover after they arrive.
This isn’t opinion or internet outrage. I took a hard look at real Black travelers’ experiences, Black expat life stories, and patterns that keep repeating across international relocation conversations. Why do some places have a consistently low Black population? Why do so many Black tourists report feeling unwelcome, over-scrutinized, or isolated? And why do the same countries keep coming up when people talk about travel while Black, racism in travel, and international travel challenges for Black people? This video connects those dots and reveals what rarely gets discussed openly.
If you’re a Black traveler, digital nomad, retiree, or someone considering expat life abroad, this is what you should know before visiting a country. We’re talking travel discrimination, visa realities, cultural inclusion—or the lack of it—and why some destinations end up on the list of countries Black people avoid. This investigation is about awareness, preparation, and truth, not fear. Because understanding the international relocation truth can save you money, stress, and disappointment.
