Dakar surprised me. In this episode we explore Senegal’s capital through its food, art, markets, and people. We try Senegalese seafood, visit artisan and fish markets, ride ATVs at the Pink Lake (Lac Rose), learn how salt is harvested, help a community fish using traditional methods, and dive into Dakar’s nightlife. We also visit the African Renaissance Monument and taste Senegalese djollof for the first time. Dakar showed us a side of West Africa that’s creative, modern, and full of energy.
