Heartfelt Cooking for My Wife This Ramadan

Ramadan is here, and as a Muslim couple living abroad, we have to adapt our daily routines-especially when it comes to food! I work night shifts, and my wife works in the mornings, so preparing Iftar falls on me. In Comoros and many African cultures, men don't usually grow up cooking for their wives. But when you live abroad, you have to adjust. Helping your wife is necessary, and learning how to cook is a must-eating out is just too expensive!

Today, I'm making a simple but delicious Iftar meal: cassava, sweet potatoes, and chicken sauce-a taste of home to break our fast.

Life abroad comes with challenges, but also opportunities to grow. In this vlog, I share my experience of balancing work, family, and Ramadan as a husband, father, and night-shift worker in France.
