I was disappointed with the ambulance service in Ghana, as I encountered too many shenanigans for a public service that is meant to prioritize the health and safety of its citizens. It is shocking and quite frustrating to realize that in a country where emergency medical services are so crucial, there are significant issues that need to be addressed. Who in the West has ever heard of paying for something as basic as an oxygen mask, or even for the petrol needed to operate an ambulance? It seems unfathomable to many, yet this is the reality faced by individuals relying on emergency services in Ghana. The lack of proper funding and support for such essential services raises serious concerns about the overall healthcare system and the well-being of the population.
