Let's Raise $20,000 For New Yundum Lower Basic School. Home to 4000students studying for free (Government Free Education System)
New Yundum was the second school we visited that day, which happened to be a government school.
Through our interaction with the school representative, we came to the question about the uniforms, and that's how we came to learn how that one former student who attended New Yundum as a child just donated about 20 sewing machines to help with providing free uniforms but the allocated housing lucked a lot in order to become functional. Many families can not afford to have their child's uniform made along with other things needed to attend school. So with the blessing of the sewing machines, they will be able to assist the kids with learning a new skill by teaching them how to use the sewing machine and make the uniform they will wear for the school year. As parents, we found this a fantastic idea to teach a skill and provide them with what they need for the school year.
This school currently provides education for 1,779 boys and 2,221 girls, and they never close enrollment, which means they never turn away a child to be educated. To be able to continue to provide a better quality of education, they need some help.
The School generally is in need of funds and barious materials inorder to cater for all the 4000students. Things they need include:
The room they plan to use for tailoring needs fans,Bulbs and a wardrobe to keep the fabrics in, but they also need much more.
They need desks for the classrooms,
Study and writing books and learning materials,
Garden Equipment (fencing)and seeds for their garden so that they can be able to grow their own food and offer free lunch.
They have a full computer lab that they cannot use due to electricity shortage, 3 big watts or standby generators would help so much and sold the electricity issue .
40 bags of cement to renovate most of the toning down school buildings and some funds to help the school run da
