This trip to this Slave Island was one I was anticipated to go to though I knew how it may be spiritually draining due to the horror memories ,sorrow and great suffering that was imposed on our people from the motherland taken from their wives and kids ,subjected to unending physical, mental and emotional pains causing death to many and those who survived where taken as slaves to various colonial white countries for labour. #slavery #livinginAfrica #nichole&Sami #sweetbae

Gorée is a tiny, car-free island off the coast of Dakar, in Senegal. It’s known for its role in the 15th- to 19th-century Atlantic slave trade. On the narrow streets, colonial buildings include the House of Slaves, now a museum. The 19th-century Fort d’Estrées houses the IFAN Historical Museum, with exhibits on Senegal’s past.
