2022 MLK Memorial Event: Keeping the Dream Alive
The City of Greensboro’s Human Rights Commission honors Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy in this video production, themed “Keeping the Dream Alive.” The production features keynote speaker Nikki Giovanni, a celebrated poet, author, educator and activist, and includes performances by Sanaa Sharrieff, Constance Devone, and Gate City youth with The Poetry Project. The inaugural awardees of the new Morningside Homes Memorial Scholarship are honored, and local faith leaders read the words of Rev. Dr. King in Bennett Chapel, where he spoke in 1958.
